This paper presents a resin sealing scheme for road applications with excellent skid resistance and noise reduction properties, composed of weather resistant epoxy resin, emery, and rubber particles. The properties of various materials were investigated and optimized through fracture tensile tests, pull off tests, and durability tests, and the solution was applied in the eastern section of the Chenhai Highway project. Findings indicate that the weather resistant epoxy resin exhibits high tensile strength, favorable deformation performance, and strong bonding capacity. The emery particles have a solid and dense internal structure with outstanding waterproofing, making them suitable for use in thin layer resin coatings. The resin sealing layer effectively enhances water stability and high temperature resistance of the pavement, providing excellent initial skid resistance,durability, and noise reduction performance. This new resin sealing layer effectively addresses issues with current thin layer epoxy pavements, including insufficient shear resistance, wear resistance, and noise reduction performance. |
